Going in forward order from a wee lass from the valleys in South Wales, UK who left for the far away ( a 3 hr drive – that’s kinda big in the UK) town of Plymouth to study Geography, realised I loved soil and earthworms so did a Masters in that area before leaving to a much further away place – Australia where I worked in the Soil Conservation Authority in Victoria.
This was followed by a Dip Ed to teach, which I did at Darwin High in the mid ’80’s. The it was onto Qld and various other pursuits and interests, ranging from assisting my late husband in his acupuncture and TCM clinic, to sales, admin and a dabble in property renovation.
Pretty much all have involved ‘keeping accounts’ including on and off voluntary bookkeeping for a martial arts organisation I have been a member of for decades.
Looking back, my favourite things have been reinvigorating tired old homes and learning how to train my beloved border collie Lucy who has now gone on her next journey. Such a rewarding and bond building experience.
Like most, I became aware of and involved with Scleroderma through a friend who is living with the disease and have to say it is inspiring to see others with the disease still choosing to be proactive and doing the best possible thing – to help others.
